My current paintings are thematically representative of moving from darkness into light. Most people are emotionally in dark places at some point in their lives. Whether the darkness comes from depression, trauma, life experiences or day-to-day stresses. The darkness can be temporary or linger longer. We eventually move from that darkness into lightness and as the darkness falls into the background, the light slowly replaces it. These paintings, though may seem sad at first, are about hope. Hope that comes from knowing we will be better and we will feel lighter.
